Chilled water buffer tanks or buffer vessels may also be used to balance the loads and demands of commercial operations throughout the day by adding additional volume to the chilled water system. Opposite to a heating system, which are used to collect heat in the form of hot water from biomass boilers, heat pump heat sources or other renewable energy systems such as solar, a chilled water vessel can increase the cooling system’s durability and dependability while lowering maintenance needs.
The downside of a chilled water buffer vessel is that due to them being cold, they attract moisture (condensation on the shell) which leads to the vessel corroding from the outside and shortening the life of the chilled water vessel. Therefore, MPE has chosen to offer 3 different types off chilled water vessels
